Excellent stay. William in the restaurant gave great service.

Beautiful location. Good sized clean, comfortable room. Appreciated the blackout curtains. Food in the bar average and expensive though drinks very reasonably priced. Didn't use the spa facilities. We would stay again.

Lovely hotel. Been a couple of times before. Speedy check in although paid for the room to be ready early and had to wait about 15/20 mins. Had dinner in the main restaurant. William was looking after us. He was lovely nothing was a problem. Very polite you gentleman. We will be back.

Myself and my 2 young children visited this week. Check in was flawless, our room wasn't quite ready so we were given some drinks vouchers while we waited. The receptionist was super helpful and really lovely. The bar service was a little disruptive as we ordered some fries while we waited. They were plonked in front of us with quite a thud, no cutlery or sauce options. I had to go and ask for some cutlery and sauces / salt / vinegar. I then had to ask again as these still weren't brought over. The room was spotlessly clean, beds really comfortable and there was lots of space for the 3 of us. There was a card saying that Sophie B had cleaned the room, so shout out to Sophie B for a super clean room. The children enjoyed the shortbread biscuits that had been left with the teas and coffees. Swimming pool was lots of fun for us all and the children's timings were really fair I felt. The children also did the quad biking at the adventure centre. Again, super helpful and fun staff. Would definitely recommend a visit to the centre. Dinner was lovely and even in a full restaurant we were really taken care of by all the staff. The children really enjoyed their dinner and there was plenty of options for them. Breakfast was plentiful and again couldn't fault it at all. We visited the driving range and the only thing was there wasn't really a choice of children's clubs for them to use. Before leaving we headed back to the bar for a quick bite to eat before driving home and again, the service was really poor. We ordered and waited 25 minutes before being told that there was no availability of our items. With children this is already a long time to wait for a snack so to be told that we had to re choose was disappointing. When the food arrived, again it came without cutlery and I had to go to the bar and ask. It was met with a huge sigh as if I'd asked for something very different. However, the food was tasty. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and the set walks are great. There's something for everyone. I would return but not sure I would eat in the bar again as it felt like we were imposing on staff, especially for it to happen twice.

The room was lovely & clean. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Breakfast was nice, but could have been a bit hotter! I would recommend and would stay here again.

Just had a 2 night dinner bed and breakfast stay at Slaley Hall in Northumberland. Excellent value. I am confused by the poor reviews for food ours was excellent and the staff in the restaurant, mostly youngsters, were exceptional. Whoever trains them has done an excellent job polite friendly and very professional. The reception staff were most helpful even when faced with a very difficult guest we watched them go that extra mile to try and please her. I would have shown her the door I am afraid. Our room was most comfortable and it was a bonus to have a child free spa until 4pm - great idea. Overall a really lovely couple of days. Thank you Slaley

2 rounds of golf with a meal in the restaurant. Fantastic service, the waitress Laura went out her way to accommodate a fussy eater we have in our group which helped out massively. Very friendly staff.

We arrived for a 2 night stay with a group of friends. We had a very pleasant surprise at check in when we were given an upgrade to a suite in the original building. The room was spacious with a large comfortable bed, however the furnishings were not particularly good. The hotel has a good ambiance and the staff were very friendly and helpful although somewhat inexperienced. Food was no better than average and the menu was limited. We played golf and the course was excellent. Overall an enjoyable stay and we would come back again.

From entering the hotel to leaving, every member of staff that we encountered were lovely, extremely friendly, and went above and beyond to help and assist us. Our room was very clean, had everything that we needed - the bar and restaurant were also clean, with staff being very attentive. The only down fall is that the hotel looks very tired! A good paint job, furnishings with holes replaced, would do the hotel wonders - it is the little things that let this hotel down. We did have a lovely stay and the staff were amazing - would we stay again, yes.

Location was very good, near to many attractions yet secluded enough to feel “away from it all”. Room - we had a suite which was huge, Four poster bed very comfortable (but be warned if you are vertically challenged you might need a little step up!). Meal was delightful in restaurant, very attentive staff. Pool area lovely. Will certainly be on our “return to” list! Fantastic stay.

Two days spa weekend with my friends. Rooms lovely and clean. Beds comfy but the duvets were too warm. Karol was our waiter both nights in the restaurant, and he couldn’t do enough for us. Had a lovely facial from Sophie

Karol was our server and what an amazing lad. Polite and friendly and a credit to the hotel. Couldn't do enough to help with all our requests , give him a payrise!

1st night at Slaley Hall and we thought we’d try Hadrians Brasserie, we were not disappointed. Our waiter William was fantastic very polite and professional. We had steak which was the best we’ve had in some time. Would recommend.

We have come to celebrate my husbands birthday and explore the area too. Our first night in the restaurant we were served by William who gave us 5 star treatment and looked after us and made the whole experience very enjoyable - thank you

We stayed for 2 nights from 23/25 September It was so good we decided to stay an extra night. I joined the Breakaway offer too. On arrival we were given our room card and a voucher for our drinks with Breakaway.A nice gesture on arrival. The room was cleaned by Sophie who'd done a great job,very clean thank you. Initially I'd booked online for the Wednesday evening in the restaurant and again after we'd had our first meal, we were already looking forward to our next meal. My husband had the mushroom starter on the 3 evenings, said it was lovely.The stilton pannecotta was amazing for one of my starters.The ravioli and the guinea fowl was delicious too. A friendly greeting by Abbey who was in charge of the restaurant.Josh took us to our table and gave us the wine list, and took our drinks order Nothing was rushed he then gave us a menu and asked for any allergies he gave us a few minutes to choose,he was friendly and professional as with Jamie,Abbey and Kate in reception and Jimmy on breakfast.It was great to see them more than once on our stay. Kate checked us in and fitted us in for an extra night.Thank you. After our meals we sat in the whisky room which was lovely n relaxing.There was plenty of chilled areas to sit. The swimming pool was great for adults in the day. The Priestman course was in excellent condition as always. Lots to see and do with plenty of footpaths which will do one next time. We enjoyed our stay so much we booked for November. Everyone was welcoming and we cant wait to come back.

Great place to stay for relaxing mini break. Spacious room. Friendly staff. Wonderful experience at the spa especially in the evening, quiet and peaceful. Beautiful part of Northumberland. Dinner was delicious and the service was fantastic, thankyou William our server.
